Where devices are prepared for resale or redeployment, Kumba Green ICT applies reasonable steps to prepare devices for use. This may include hardware checks, basic functional testing, cleaning, component review, storage review, and software preparation where required.
Customer Data Responsibility
Customers are responsible for backing up and removing personal, confidential, or business data before handing over any device for collection, repair, support, warranty assessment, recovery, trade-in, donation, or redeployment.
Customers should remove accounts, passwords, files, cloud locks, encryption keys, and sensitive information before handover.
Data Sanitisation Workflow
Where Kumba Green ICT handles previously used equipment, reasonable efforts may be made to prepare storage devices before redeployment. The workflow may include device review, storage assessment, data removal steps, operating system preparation, and suitability checks.
The exact method may depend on device type, storage condition, customer requirements, and operational context.
Limitations
Kumba Green ICT cannot guarantee recovery of customer data, retention of customer files, or removal of data that was not disclosed, inaccessible, encrypted, cloud-linked, or technically restricted.
Unless a formal written data sanitisation service is agreed, data handling is treated as part of reasonable device preparation and responsible reuse, not as a certified forensic or enterprise compliance service.
